The fourth quarter of my #365papers

This is the report of articles I’ve read during the fourth quarter of the #365papers challenge. You can find my previous reports of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarters. I have continued with the same method of choosing articles; I read articles published in 2007 in July, 2008 in August and 2009 in September. You can see a list of all articles I read in this pdf (365papers4Q).

During those years 2007-9 there were quite many studies of mountain birches (Betula pubescens ssp. czerepanovii), autumnal (Epirrita autumnata) and winter moths (Operophtera brumata), and their predators & parasitoids in northern Fennoscandia. I studied those then myself (Mäntylä et al. 2008), so I have lots of articles of that topic saved on my computer.

I read also several papers of (possible) trophic cascades from birds via insects to plants, as I did already during the previous quarter.

And also again more articles of olfaction of birds.

And some articles of useful (statistical) methods.

I thought I had read a lot articles with a Finnish first author, but there were “only” 26 in this quarter.

Even though this is now my last quarter of #365papers, I’ve liked this so much that I will continue reading a paper per day at least for some time. I still have hundreds of pdfs saved on my computer. I will report those at least in Twitter and maybe also as a blog post. Let’s see that in December. 🙂
